Fire Safety

The main purpose of fire protection is to protect the occupants, equipment and the fire fighting personnel in case of fire.

High profile commercial kitchen fires have made the industry acutely aware of the need to install efficient fire suppression systems. In commercial kitchens, the biggest fire hazard exists in places where a lot of grease is released: fryers, fat cookers, char broilers, woks...

The existence of grease together with high surface temperatures can cause flames and thus cause the grease to ignite. From initial flash to uncontrollable fireball can take less than 60 seconds.

Fire safety is radically improved by UV grease destruction systems and high efficient KSA filters working in conjunction with a listed fire suppression system.

When fire safety issues are addressed, local and national codes have to be taken into account. NFPA -96 and other governing codes identify requirements for an approved installation. For more information on highly efficient fire suppression systems, visit here.
