From science into solutions for improved everyday life

Halton advanced innovation centres on three continents enable comprehensive testing of innovations as well as solutions tailored for customer needs, to verify their performance before installation. The laboratories are built to provide a full-scale indoor environment allowing for measurement of a complete range of real-world operating conditions. Full-scale mock-ups and testing under real-world conditions are complemented with computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

Customer-tailored tests and simulations are used for:

  • System selection / evaluation of alternatives
  • Optimisation for specific space requirements
  • Visualisation of air-conditioning equipment operation
  • Performance visualisations for different ventilation systems

Also, Halton systems and other products are rigorously tested in laboratories before production begins. The laboratories, which have facilities for sound, throw pattern and output measurements, carry out studies according to the industry’s internationally recognised standards. The measurement results are utilised in the product performance models of the Halton design tools. Halton co-operates closely with leading universities and research institutes to put the latest knowledge in indoor climate technology into practice in our customers’ projects.
